Grief over the loss of someone dear to us is an individual process that occurs at an individual pace.  Journey of Hope Grief Support Center, Inc. in Plano, Texas is a place that allows each child to process through their grief in their own time, in a supportive, understanding, and caring environment.  The focus of the organization is to support the grieving process for children and their care givers after the loss of a loved one.  Their web address is www.johgriefsupport.org and their phone number is 972-964-1600.  They have just updated their web page and I think it will answer any questions that you have better than I.

JOH is modeled after The Warm Place in Ft Worth, where I and my children, and Karen and her children grieved the loss of Cathy and Tim in 1993.  

I can, in all sincerity, say that my experience there was truly a “life saver”, without which I would have not known how, or what, to do for my children after the loss of their mother.  We would have most certainly ended up in an altogether different situation than we are today.  

I am honored that several members of my family have taken on the task of helping others through their grief and hope that your friends will find hope and peace in their hearts as they go forward.
